The Pinnacle of Motherhood
Well, what a week!
This week, the word ‘pinnacle’ seems particularly apt. I first encountered it during the last season of Bridgerton (if you know, you know), and it resonates deeply with recent events. Last Sunday was Mothering Sunday, and I genuinely felt as though I had reached the pinnacle of motherhood. Surely, things can only improve from here?
Gratitude and Growing Children
The children are now old enough not to be too mischievous and are able to thank me for being their mummy. Their gestures of appreciation make these moments even more special.
Facing Health Challenges
I am currently in my fourth week of waking up feeling as though I am riding the Nemesis at Alton Towers! To be precise, I am dealing with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). This means that calcium crystals in my inner ear are sending false signals, which trick my brain into feeling as if I am spinning on the Waltzers.
That being said, I am thoroughly fed up with feeling this way.
Attempting a Return to Work
In true superwoman style, I tried to return to work, but after a few hours I had to admit defeat. I called my GP to recommence my sick note. I gave it my best shot, but ultimately, I had to accept my limitations.
Busy Family Life and Clever Solutions
Amidst all of this, the children have had World Book Day, parents’ evening, a school trip, and with Red Nose Day approaching, life has been hectic. All these events can be expensive when you consider the cost of outfits and accessories. However, I have discovered a secret weapon: Vinted! Many people sell nearly new items for less than half the retail price, and sometimes they are as good as new.
Alongside Vinted, I am open to any other life hacks anyone else has to offer!
