About Me

Hello there…I would like to take this time to introduce myself I’m a 30 something women, from Yorkshire, born in the 80’d, raised in the 90’s and became an adult in the years that followed. I am a part time Nurse and a full time Mam, trying to follow my dream of writing and creating a book that I have worked on for that last few years.

For the Love of Books

My Journey into Reading

Although I had spent years with books around me, it wasn’t until my mid-teens that I truly read an entire book. Before that, my fascination lay in making up stories; however, these tales rarely evolved beyond the initial idea. It was only through reading that I found myself immersed in worlds beyond my own, realising the depth and possibilities that written stories could offer.

Books have played a major role in cultivating my imagination. A colleague once remarked that not everyone possesses the capacity for vivid imagination. For me, reading is like watching a film unfold in my mind, a perspective I hadn’t realised was unique until that conversation. Perhaps this is why people gravitate towards different genres; some prefer the escapism of fiction, whilst others are drawn to the authenticity of biographies.

Favourite Authors and Unforgettable Worlds

Over the years, I have encountered numerous authors, but there are a select few whose works I read without hesitation, regardless of the synopsis. Sometimes, I even revisit their books—often because new material hasn’t been released—and find myself lost in the unique worlds they’ve created. One such author is Beth Fynn, based in Florida, USA. Although she remains relatively unknown, I always recommend her books whenever anyone asks for suggestions. Her stories are brimming with diverse characters, and the worlds she builds linger in my thoughts long after I’ve finished reading.

Beth Fynn’s Trilogy and Beyond

Beth Fynn has published a total of seven books, each one holding a special place on my bookshelf. The first three form the ‘Nine Minutes’ trilogy, which opens with a scene in a state prison where someone is administered a lethal injection, taking nine minutes to pronounce them dead. This gripping beginning immediately captured my attention, compelling me to uncover who this person was and the reasons behind their sentence. The narrative then travels back in time, following the life of a young girl named Ginny. Without giving too much away, I can say that the trilogy is both intense and memorable.

The remaining four books are spin-offs, focusing on characters connected to the original trilogy, though not central to its main story. I find myself returning to these novels at various points in my life, rediscovering their intricacies and depth each time I read them.

The books are available on Amazon Kindle Unlimited and are linked below:
